Photo: International truck

Like everything else in Bannack, Montana, this old truck was abandoned. While the structures are kept in a state of arrested decay, the truck is on its own. Bannack, an old gold mining town, became the first territorial capital of Montana in 1864. It is now a state park. Photo taken September, 2011.

Photo: Confederate cavalry scout

Lookout! There’s a johnny-reb a-comin’. Photo taken at a civil war reenactment in Graeagle, California 2011. I loved the horses—they don’t flinch with rifle and cannon fire going off all around them. I think this is an annual affair around the Fourth of July.

Photo: Smith Rock, Central Oregon

This is a portion of Smith Rock near Redmond, OR. It’s a favorite central Oregon climbing destination. We hiked the trail around to the right and climbed up to the top. Photo taken August 2006.
