I did, and still do…

…love her so much.

So Karen was still a teenager, and I needed my parents permission to legally get a marriage license, but our parents were supportive. I’m not sure why, but the custom of the day was for weddings to start at 8 pm. Given that only three weeks before (and after all the invitations had been mailed) I had been diagnosed with mononucleosis, it was a challenge for me to remain standing during the ceremony. Despite the rocky start, we’ve had a wonderful 49 years.

Forty nine year anniversary and the grandkids think it’s funny!
