September 11, 2007, 12:22 pm I don’t think we’d see a motel sign like this in California. In addition, the Bible in the room of this Pigeon Forge, TN motel was prominently displayed, opened to the twenty-third Psalm.
September 10, 2007, 12:20 pm Our North Carolina trip was a bit too early for the fall color display. But we have good reason for not being away from home in October (like a due date for a new grandchild’s birth). This hillside at Craggy Gardens (just a few miles north of Asheville) will glow with reds, oranges, and yellows in just a few weeks.
It will look something like this. I took this picture a few years during a bicycle tour of the entire Blue Ridge parkway.
On this trip we found some isolated color, like the tree was over-anxious for fall.
September 9, 2007, 12:18 pm To our detriment, I suppose, this was as close as we got to a bluegrass performance in Asheville. There was, however, an impromptu performer on the square near an outdoor café who sang some folk country.
