Las Trampas flower hike

Shooting Stars

Karen and I took a nice hike today in Las Trampas Regional Park, starting from the Del Amigo trailhead in Danville. This trailhead is basically unmarked, but you’ll find an opening in the fence where the road narrows and becomes posted with no parking signs.

After going up the hill through a narrow easement the trail skirts an open field looking out on the Eugene O’Neil National Historic Park before starting a steep ascent to the top of the ridgeline. We headed west on the ridgeline trail. The views were pretty good into the distance, although the sky was a bit grey because of high clouds. Flowers weren’t abundant, but there were a few varieties for some photos.

We took the Corduroy Hills trail over Eagle Peak and then the Madrone Trail back to complete the 6.9 mile loop.
