Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon panorama

We’re starting the trip back home, but first we stopped at Bryce Canyon for a brief view and some photography. It was windy and cold, but the colors popped, especially with contrast of the snow. Photos, even wide angle ones, have a difficult time portraying the broad vistas of the canyon. Be sure to play the slide show in full screen mode.

Funny story: The edge of the cliff is protected (usually) by a 4′ high chain link fence. Chase, in wandering around, stuck his foot through a chain link and got it stuck. We couldn’t get it out without taking his shoe off. As Karen reached through the fence to remove his shoe, it popped off and tumbled over the cliff. Uh oh. Bye bye shoe. But wait, let’s check. Maybe a trail goes down there and we can scramble to retrieve the shoe. Well, there is a trail below, and the shoe is plopped right in the middle of it. Lucky!
