This was my view today as I hiked along a ridge in Las Trampas Regional Park (while doing a bit of geocaching). I started at the staging area at the end of Bollinger Canyon, hiked about 5.5 miles and climbed about 1500 feet.

I think this was the lone poppy I came across—it seemed out of place to be blooming so late in the season.
Doesn’t this California poppy realize it is mid-November?
