August 23, 2007, 8:57 pm Scientists at Vanderbilt University have come up with a prosthetic/robotic arm (I can’t decide which) powered by hydrogen peroxide (essentially steam) instead of batteries. It has a number of advantages: power, speed, smaller size.

August 23, 2007, 8:55 pm I’m sure I’m not the only person to think of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series of science fiction novels when I read this story about predictive simulation. Never heard of psycohistory? Perhaps you will if this patent is the foundation <smirk>.
