We spent a good portion of the day at Sand Harbor, a lovely beach area at Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side. Just before leaving, we hunted down the two caches in the park, one a micro and the other a virtual. Yesterday we took a lengthy expedition to the north of Reno in search of a couple of geocaches. We had the latitude-longitude coordinates, and we even knew from reconnaissance of satellite photos that the caches were located on mountain tops. But we didn’t know what dirt road to use to get to the cache. We […] Dan, Janet, Karen and I hiked up to Ellis Peak from a trailhead off of Barker Pass Road and picked up 2 caches. On the drive back down the hill, we stopped for a quick hike into a now fairly dry meadow for another cache. There were great views from the peak. This is a […] |
